Theme Set up.
Purchase, download and extract Portphotio Plus.
Download and extract the latest version of the Thematic Theme.
Upload the Thematic folder and Portphotio Plus folder to your WordPress wp-content/themes directory.
Login to WordPress.
Navigate to Appearance > Themes and activate PortphotioPlus.
Navigate to Appearance > Portphotio Theme Options and Select the color you’d like to use in your theme, the number of slides, the homepage category and the speed of the slider.
Homepage Image Slider Setup.
Images should be 960px X 643px. Larger images will be automatically cropped.
Create a new page called “Home” and select “Home Page” under the Template dropdown.
Navigate to Settings > Reading > Front page displays > A static page (select below): Front page: > “Home”(from the dropdown menu)
(If you want a blog, create a new page, call it whatever you’d like(ie:blog/news/cool stuff)). Navigate to Settings > Reading > Posts page: Select the name of the page you want to use for your blog.
Navigate to a post that you would like to highlight or create a new post.
Locate the Category section, check the category that you set as the homepage category in the options page.
Locate the “Featured Image” section on the right side of the screen and click on “Set Featured Image”.
Using the WordPress media uploader, select your image and upload it.
After your image has uploaded fill in the necessary information and click “Use as featured image”.
Post Thumbnail and Post Image Setup.
Images should be 590px X 400px. Larger images will be automatically cropped. No need to worry about featured posts, these images are automatically created.
Locate the “Featured Image” section on the right side of the screen and click on Set Featured Image.
Using the WordPress media uploader, select your image and upload it.
After your image has uploaded fill in the necessary information and click “Use as featured image”.

Create a new page
Under Page Attributes > Template > select “full Width” or “No sidebar”(No sidebar supports older versions of Thematic)
